Gheorghe Sbârnă is Professor and Doctoral Advisor of Romanian Contemporary History at Valahia University of Târgovişte. He has published several books on the political history of Romania during the modern and contemporary ages focusing on the history of Romanian political parties and institutions in the 19th and 20th centuries (including the history of press and of the Parliament), on Romanian Foreign Policy and Romania`s contribution to the development of ”the European idea” during the inter-war period. He is currently doing researches on the activity of the inter-parliamentary union from its inception to the end of the inter-war period. He has also studied and lectured in Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary and Russia.
